A Tip of the Hat

Daniel Anderson from Brisbane, Australia has been performing puppetry professionally for 12 years. The biggest influences in Daniel’s life growing up was Jim Henson and his Muppets. When he was 12 he began to take notice of Kermit’s design and construction.  So using his mother’s sewing machine, Daniel began building Muppets then moved towards building puppets with his own unique style.

The first time he performed was at a Talent Show; he signed up at the last minute and won! That same night he was approached by some attending audience members who asked if he could perform for a school and at children parties; he gladly accepted and has been WOWing his audiences ever since.

The Penguin character below is the first marionette he ever made. Wanting to explore and challenge the way people view puppetry presently. Daniel devised a complex system of strings to perform highly advance movements.

When I first watched this video I thought it was originally a computer animation or green screened effect. You”ll definately have to watch it more than once!
